news / Nelson Mandela Micro Sculpture
Birmingham born, Mr. Wigan creates sculptures which are the smallest in the world - placed on the top of a pin head or needle. The sculptures are then displayed in special microscopic viewing cases.
The unique micro sculpture of Mr Mandela - as shown above in a needle - has been displayed in Los Angeles and Santa Monica at the initial leg of Mr. Wigan's US tour, before returning to London, where it was displayed at the NMCF UK Annual Gala Dinner in July. It will also be displayed at a fundraising event at the Gherkin in November.
The Mandela micro sculpture will be the centrepiece to a silent auction, where 70% of the auction proceeds of the piece will be donated to help the most vulnerable children in South Africa.
