Overall the schools raised a magnificent £4,300 for the work of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund and we are extremely grateful for such superb support.

Whilst in South Africa the teams visited the township of Khayelitsha outside Cape Town which gave them a strong sense of the type of work the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund is doing throughout South Africa.

The tour was a great success - both in terms of matches won and the experience of being in South Africa.

Rachael Ward from NMCF UK was delighted to be able to visit Mary Erskine school to receive the donation from the captain of the hockey team Caitlin Gray, and also to be able to thank everyone, including tour organiser Claire Lampard and parents who had been so supportive of the fundraising.
