Set in South Africa in the 1950s, The World Unseen is a human drama inspired by true stories of the writer/director Shamim Sarif's grandmother's life during a time when apartheid began its treacherous grip on the country.

The film's themes of love, integrity and finding ones own voice strongly echo the vision of NMCF programmes.
