The Big Event - Let's Swish
In Spring 2015 we're holding a "Swish" in Central London location for up to 200 women in aid of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund. The Fund helps 100,000 of the poorest children and young people in Southern Africa every year to live safer and happier lives, but we need to host fundraising events like this to enable our work to continue.
A Swish is a fun night out where you can trade your old clothes for new, support a great cause and support the environment by stopping your unwanted clothes ending up at the landfill. On the night, guests bring along 3 good quality, clean items from their wardrobes they don't want anymore - but are proud to pass on. Clothes, accessories, shoes, handbags or jewellery, it's all welcome.
Arrive, drop off your items, grab a drink with your friends at the fully stocked cash bar, catch up and look around our exciting beauty and fashion stalls, then experience the countdown before the doors to open on the BIG SWISH at 7.30pm. Think of a giant charity shop - except everyone gets to take home as many items as they want! There's plenty for everyone as we have some amazing new donations from our sponsors and retail partners.
There will also be the chance to win designer handbags and dresses, whilst networking with amazing women.
I want to help! What do I have to do?
Volunteers play a huge part in making our work a success and we need your help to shine in 2015! Getting involved is easy and lots of fun. Volunteers:
• Sign up by contacting us
• Attend one of our planning meetings in February or March to get to know each other
• Collect clothes/accessories/shoe donations in the months up leading up to the Swish
• Sell a minimum of 5 tickets to friends, family and colleagues
• Get involved on the day of the event - nip over after work and help us get ready for all our guests!
• And as a thank you from us, you ATTEND FREE OF CHARGE on the night. It's about having fun after all...
• How much time do I have to dedicate? Just 1 hour to get you prepped, then 3 hours with us on the night. And the time you choose to put in selling tickets and collecting donation is up to you!
• What date and time is the event? TBC but it's planned for Spring 2015, to coincide with Spring Clear-outs. It will be on a weeknight running from around 6pm - 8pm, so guests can come straight from work.
• How much are tickets? Tickets will be £15
• I can't volunteer, can I still attend? Of course - just keep an eye on our website to buy your ticket.
