The Nelson Mandela Children's Fund UK 20th Anniversary Dinner was held on Friday 24 February in London with 300 people, who joined corporates, individuals and celebrities at the renowned and famous Madame Tussauds. Guests were treated to a Spirit of London ride on arrival, followed by a 4D Marvel show and drinks reception.
MCs for the evening, Gavin Ramjaun and Susan Gossage, kept guests entertained through the course of the dinner. Entertainment on the evening included Rene Byrd, Denise Pearson and Incognito Artists who all performed live at the celebrations.
There were heartfelt speeches from NMCF CEO, Sibongile Mkhabela, and UK Executive Director, Kathi Scott, about the journey of the charity over the past 20 years and their aspirations for the future of the organization. In particular, the charity stressed the importance of this year to the organisation, as this coming June will see our first little patients admitted to the Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital in South Africa! After 11 years of planning, fundraising and construction, the facility was officially launched on 2 December 2016 in Johannesburg.
We are grateful to everyone who supported our 20th Anniversary Dinner - we truly appreciate the contribution and presence of everyone there and those who helped support the event in many different ways!
We are humbled and grateful to everyone who continues to support our work - not only for helping to play a part in creating a wonderful facility for sick children, but also helping us to continue Mr Mandela's legacy through our programmes of work.
